DARTZ in America: The Black Stallion in the United States

DARTZ cars are already in America. A Prombron’ Black Stallion Type C is available in Los Angeles, and in April 2025 a Hummer-based Black Stallion, originally built for a Hollywood film, went to auction at Barrett-Jackson in Palm Beach. American clients commission a DARTZ through its US website or directly through the office of Leonard F. Yankelovich; there are no dealers. DARTZ links its American story to Igor Sikorsky, who began at its ancestor, the Russo-Baltic works.

A century ago an engineer from the Russo-Baltic works crossed the Atlantic and built an aviation company. DARTZ, which descends from the same works, has its own American story.

In Sikorsky’s footsteps

Igor Sikorsky began as an engineer at the Russo-Baltic works in 1911 and became head of its Aeronautical Department. After emigrating to the USA, he founded Sikorsky Aircraft. His Stallion helicopters gave DARTZ’s flagship its name. Read Igor Sikorsky and Russo-Baltic aviation.

Already in America

DARTZ cars are already on American roads. DARTZ says a Black Stallion Type C is available in Los Angeles. And in April 2025 a Black Stallion on a 2003 Hummer H2, which DARTZ said was originally built for a Hollywood film, went to auction at Barrett-Jackson in Palm Beach, as Carscoops reported, with its original V8 and a cabin trimmed in brown and white leather with crocodile accents.

The Black Stallion CLV

DARTZ’s flagship today is the Black Stallion CLV, on a GMT 825 frame DARTZ calls WarBones, with a body in its GBOL technology under the Picassian Sliced Art Deco grille. Read about the Black Stallion.

There are no dealers in America, as elsewhere. American clients commission a DARTZ through its US website and directly through the office of Leonard F. About DARTZ

DARTZ is a Riga carrosserie that builds bespoke, opulent vehicles, armoured or non-armoured, in strictly limited numbers. It calls them BONDs: Bespoke Opulent Noble Drives.

Its heritage runs back to the Russo-Baltic Wagon Factory (RBVZ), founded in Riga in 1869, whose automobile department built its first car in 1909. Leonard F. Yankelovich revived that heritage as DARTZ in 1988. The group, DARTZ Grupa OÜ, is registered in Tallinn, Estonia.

Its Prombron’ models, from the Iron Diamond and Black Dragon to the Black Shark, Black Alligator and Black Stallion, have been covered by Top Gear, Forbes, Robb Report and Fox News, among many others.
